Comprised of 14 regional offices DCF has managed to devastate thousands and terrorize even more in the fair state of CT. As of right now January 11th, 2010 DCF has an annual budget of $849,647,000.00 and employs an amazing 3,526 failures, sorry, underachievers. Now I’m no Social Worker, but I can do simple math and that comes out to an staggering average of 240 thousand dollars per a person!
You would think with this kind of man-power and a yearly budget of 850 Million dollars we would be seeing some amazing stories of heroic activity? Well lets see some quick stats on how well the DCF in CT has been doing.
CT DCF Safety Stats:
The following statistics represent the number of cases per 100,000 children in the United States and includes DCF in Connecticut. This information is from The National Center on Child Abuse and Neglect (NCCAN) in Washington.
| Physical Abuse | Sexual Abuse | Neglect | Medical Neglect | Fatalities | |
| DCF / CPS | 160 | 112 | 410 | 14 | 6.4 |
| Parents | 59 | 13 | 241 | 12 | 1.5 |
Imagine that, 6.4 children die at the hands of the very agencies that are supposed to protect them and only 1.5 at the hands of parents per 100,000 children.
